The Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District (CCMVCD) is conducting a national recruitment for an experienced administrator who can lead the District, which serves approximately 1 million residents across a roughly 736-square mile area in Contra Costa County. The position of General Manager is an “atwill” position appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees. With an annual budget of $6.98 million and 33 full-time employees, the General Manager leads the District in its mission to reduce the risk of diseases spread by insects and animals by controlling them in a responsible, environmentally conscious manner. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in all aspects of organizational leadership along with excellent communication and presentation skills. Requires a Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years of significant, high-level management experience in a public agency or private sector firm; a Master’s degree and/or PhD is a plus. Experience with scientific applications in entomology, biology, or a related technical field is desirable. CCMVCD offers a competitive executive salary and benefits package with a salary range of $145,000 to $175,000 supplemented by an excellent benefits package including membership in Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association.
